Kick off with a consultation with an Australian-licensed partner GP.

Your treatment will start with a GP consult to discuss results & symptoms, determining the best plan together.

What are the blood tests testing for?

Assessment starts with blood testing to understand your current T-levels and other key health markers.

Measures both the overall amount of testosterone in your blood, including the testosterone bound to proteins, and the free testosterone available for use by the body, helping to evaluate hormonal balance and health.

FBE is a comprehensive test to check your red and white blood cells and platelets. It helps in the identification of conditions like anaemia, infections, and other blood-related disorders.

Electrolytes and Liver Function Tests (E/LFTs): measures the levels of electrolytes (like sodium and potassium) and assesses liver function. It helps detect issues like dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and liver diseases.

Kidney Function measures the levels of urea, electrolytes, and creatinine in your blood, giving an evaluation of how well your kidneys are functioning and also helping identify possible kidney dysfunction and electrolyte imbalances.

This measures the level of glucose in your blood, giving an insight into your blood sugar control. It’s really helpful for diagnosing and managing diabetes and other blood sugar-related conditions.

The High Sensitivity CRP test measures the level of C-reactive protein, a marker of inflammation. Elevated levels can indicate inflammation in the body, which may be related to various health conditions.

This measures the levels of estradiol (a form of oestrogen) and Sex-Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) in your blood, providing insights into hormone balance and reproductive health.

SHBG binds to sex hormones, including testosterone, and regulates their availability to the body. High or low levels can affect hormone balance and overall health.

FSH/LH measures the levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinising Hormone (LH) in your blood, helping in the evaluation of reproductive health and identifying hormonal imbalances.

Measures the level of PSA in your blood, a protein produced by the prostate gland. High levels can indicate prostate issues, including enlargement, inflammation, or cancer.

Frequent Questions

These tests are for patients currently receiving TRT with other clinics, who are considering transferring to CactusMen.

If you have had blood tests completed within the past 3 months which meet our threshold (see above for “required blood test results to get started”), you can upload them and our team will review them.

If you need to purchase blood tests through iMedical, the cost is: $162

You should receive your results via email within 2-3 working days. If you order tests through our partner iMedical, they will be sent by default to CactusMen for review.

Your suitability for treatment will be determined by an Australian-licensed practitioner. Low testosterone levels alone do not guarantee that you will be suitable for treatment, as all decisions are based on a comprehensive medical evaluation.

A clinician may deem it not suitable to treat any patient for reasons such as not being eligible, or patients not completing the required steps in treatment.
